Using hints as a learning tool
A hint identifies a legal pair. It does not tell you that the pair is the best strategic choice or guarantee that your next choices will clear the board.
Ask what the hint reveals

Before matching the highlighted tiles, inspect why they are free. Is the top uncovered? Which side is open? Look at the area the pair will release. The observation matters more than the shortcut.
Separate practice from ranking
Using Hint makes the current game practice-only. This gives you room to learn without mixing assisted play into verified results. Starting a new unassisted ranked challenge creates a separate attempt.
Try a simple exercise: ask for a hint, explain both tiles' legal status, and then predict one tile that could become available afterwards. After removing the pair, check your prediction. Repeating that process can make the board easier to read without relying on the button. Compare with the free-tile guide.
