A focused five-minute practice routine

A short session works best with a clear aim. You might practise recognising free tiles, comparing four identical faces or noticing what a high pair uncovers.

Choose one skill

A short session works best with a clear aim. You might practise recognising free tiles, comparing four identical faces or noticing what a high pair uncovers. Pick one rather than trying to improve everything at once.

Start a practice board and spend the first few moments scanning without clicking. Identify a small group of legal options. Then make a deliberate pair and observe the change.

Stop with a useful observation

At the end, write or remember one thing you noticed: an overlooked open side, a symbol you confused, or a pair that released an important layer. Completion is welcome, but it is not the only useful outcome.

Use Pause when your time is up. Browser storage may let you return to the same practice board later on that device. If you use hints or undo, keep the session as practice and enjoy the freedom to experiment. Start a Compact board.
